It seems House never recovered from its awful seventh season. One of the last episodes of season one, maybe one of the best, was titled "Three Stories" and another episode in season seven was called "Two Stories". This doesn't this doesn't even begin to describe House's decline. The show has gone from 'slightly silly' to 'farce'. Two episodes were spent with pointless and weird imitations of popular movies and other TV shows. In one scene, Dr. House takes his entire team for a ride in a monster truck in the middle of the city - it was basically a Benny Hill sketch without the music.
I'm still working on what exactly screwed it all up, I'm currently compiling a list of writers, directors, and producers that were involved in each episode per season but I will never stop blaming the greedy, deceitful Lisa Edelstein.
I actually haven't seen any of season eight and have kept myself mostly in the dark about its details as best I could. I haven't decided whether I really want to watch season eight. Most other people's opinions of House are completely unreliable since they used to insist that season five and six were crap while season seven was really good. Maybe I won't watch it and never let anyone discuss the plot of season eight with so I can just pretend nothing happened after season six.
Ignorance is bliss?
I find this hilarious, as it reminds of issues I have with some of the earlier and last seasons of Smallville. After about the third season the show kept repeating itself, moving forward very slowly, it wasn't until it's eighth season when a complete regime shift took place that the show got back on track and progressed the plot. Season Eight's main arc was represented poorly, but it did keep the show alive.
ReplyDeleteSeason 9 is probably my favorite season. Season 10 has some really poignant moments, but it suffered from a major identity crisis and a finale that didn't do the series justice.
I find that these people only rarely know when to end a show.
One of the main reasons I don't like watching TV shows, so many of the best ones just aren't given the chance to end properly just like Firefly and Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles.
DeleteI love Firefly. Joss Whedon is a genious, and it sucks that ever since Angel was cancelled he has been thrown around by the networks. Dollhouse is another great show. I'm really looking forward to his Avenger's.
DeleteWho isn't?
ReplyDeletePeople who hate Marvel, Joss Whedon, or the fact the guy playing Banner in this isn't Edward Norton.
ReplyDeletevery sad people indeed
